Rare charm decays at LHCb

چکیده
Flavour-changing neutral current decays such as c → ul + l − are highly suppressed in the Standard Model, but may be enhanced by New Physics. The latest searches for such decays at LHCb based on 1.0 fb −1 of data collected in 2011 are presented in this document. Two decays, 2-body

LHCb status and charm physics program
LHCb is a dedicated flavor physics experiment that will observe the 14TeV proton–proton collisions at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Construction of the LHCb detector is near completion, commissioning of the detector is well underway, and LHCb will be fully operational and ready to take data in advance of the projected May 2008 turn-on date for the LHC. The LHCb software trigger will featu...
متن کاملRare FCNC top, beauty and charm decays
Rare flavour changing neutral current (FCNC) decays of top, beauty and charm quarks can provide a powerful probe for as yet unobserved particles. Recent results on FCNC b→ s, c→ u and t transitions from the LHC experiments are reviewed. Particular attention is paid to the angular distribution of the B→ K∗0μ+μ− decay, where a measurement performed by LHCb shows a local discrepancy of 3.7 standar...
متن کاملLHCb detector performance
The LHCb detector is a forward spectrometer at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. The experiment is designed for precision measurements of CP violation and rare decays of beauty and charm hadrons. In this paper the performance of the various LHCb sub-detectors and the trigger system are described, using data taken from 2010 to 2012. It is shown that the design criteria of the experiment h...
